We had a major thunderstorm last night , dark and heavy downpour , so I chose to neglect the mail . Bright and sunny this morning , so after I exploded , what I thought was an undercooked boiled egg in the microwave , I decided to scooter out to the mailbox . I noticed some bags of stuff sitting on the , chair for packages , on the porch . At the bottom of ramp , when I opened the mail box , there was flurry of activity . The ants were not pleased that the mailman had shoved a package for me , into their penthouse . I flapped the plastic covered package up against the brick walls of the mail box a few times , in order to properly segregate the ant community from the human community , and headed back up the ramp , collecting the plastic bags from the chair , along with a whole new host of ants . The plastic bags from the chair , it turns out , was some neighbor's delivered dinner (ants and all) , which I'm assuming the delivery guy did not need to collect - a credit card call in , for which he didn't wait to get a tip for delivering in the rain .
