I had a nice experience yesterday. I bought a cheap little bike to tool around on when I am in Las Cruces. I was sure I could get it into my car but no.
When I was in the check out lane I accidentally dropped it. A man was walking by , stepped up, picked it up and put down the kickstand and made a little joke and moved on.
When I was back a few minutes later to return it because I couldnt fit it in the car somehow he was behind me in the return line too. As soon as he knew my predicament he immediately offered to throw it in his truck, which he did and took it to my hotel. The kindness of strangers!

It's great when people help each other, even if they are strangers. I'm sorry that this happened to your bike; you're lucky to have met a man so good at heart to help you. To avoid such inconveniences in the future, you could buy a rack to catch by car. When you still need to transport the bike from one place to another, you will fix it on that rack specially designed for this purpose. Also, do not hesitate to get bicycle insurance. I have one made on [sundaysinsurance.co.uk], which covers all expenses in case of accidental damage.

I like the people in this area. I go to Las Cruces a lot too! Just great people!

That is cool, until you need to put it in the car again.

that won't happen

@btroje Would it fit with the front wheel removed? I know a lot of bike people do this to make their bikes fit.

@ailurophile I think the point is she will never need to put it in her car again.

@AstralSmoke D' oh!

@ailurophile would need tools for that

I love those rare moments..

I have to say, up to now those ‘rare’ moments are more frequent here, than back in my old Bible Belt! Lol

It is nice to be reassured that there are still decent people out there. 😀

he actually gave me a quick hug and said " just to show there are good ones out there"

Sweet!

I had some stranger love today, too. (No, not THAT kind, ha ha.)

My sister and I went out for lunch and to check out some garden centers and we came back with a baguette and this Echinopsis pup--both given to us by employees we'd chatted with at the places we'd visited. Freebies, yay!

Nice!
