## Morning Buglers - Dads - and people needing more sleep everywhere....
I was woken by the phone ringing off the hook today... the guy who delivers prescriptions door to door from the pharmacy... I like him but not his tactics. He's also a door pounder. I beat him to that today. HA!
I was vividly thrown back to mornings with my Dad and a favorite morning song of his.
Yes play it now.
My Dad wasn't a morning person and neither was (nor am I). But singing has a way of making you smile despite yourself.
My parents would both sing around the house - and we actually got a kick out of it.
My Mom liked songs from "Oklahoma" and any others... they went to see "South Pacific" on their honeymoon.
My Dad was also a mattress tipper - from the foot of the bed... it was fun... I recommend it for your kids/grandkids if they have good stomachs and you have the back for it.
He also once tucked one of my nephews in so tightly that he couldn't get out of bed later... I love my nephew's expression when he tells that story? We kids had all figured out how to wiggle the covers free. It was not intended as a trap. My Dad was just a decade or two out of practice by then.
Anyway I like my Dad's tactics way better than the bugler's!
My dad used to occasionally wake us up with the stereo turned up super loud. One time it was the Dixie Cups doing "Down at Papa Joe's" and I thought a party was going on downstairs. Another time it was German marches. He would do it in the summer when he came in from midnight shift and we were still asleep.
His way of getting to visit with the kids no matter the hour?
@RavenCT Could be.
