Thanks and I move on with my life. You have to let them wake up on their own.

I say “thank you for the good wishes”. I don’t doubt that most people who say God bless really mean to say “good luck” or “Godspeed”. In short, they’re very likely saying that they wish me well and it’s decent to acknowledge and appreciate that.

Depends on who, and how they say it. I'll say thanks. Maybe even same to you. On the other hand I may let them know I'm not a believer and explain why. If they can't be reasoned with I'll tell them I'm not interested. If they follow me I'll tell them to fuck off and take their bullshit somewhere else.

I say thank you, but usually with a look on my face like I just smelled a fart.

Who ??? Is he the guy responible for this bullshit ?

I don’t give a reply.

I simply say “thank you.” There is little to be gained by starting an uncomfortable discussion about religious believe systems just because they were trying to be nice. Besides, the act of starting such a discussion would be throwing their good intentions back in their face. To me, that would be uncharitable.

Depending on circumstances and my mood, "No thank you", "Hail Satan", and "May the Force be with you".

I say nothing just like I say nothing when a mentally challenged person says something to me. I recognize the inability to think rationally.

scrunchy Level 4 Oct 4, 2018

Yes, I just feel it's a saying people grow up with. I don't have an issue.

Not necessary.

nvrnuff Level 8 Sep 28, 2018

God bless what? It doesn't bother me in the least. It's just a saying people grew up with as far as I'm concerned.

Melyeebee Level 4 Sep 28, 2018

as outspoken as I am, I usually ignore it. They are not ready to learn.

It all depends on the situation, the surroundings, who is saying it to me and their attitude while they're saying. All those things will dictate my answer back to them. But I am realistic I am a southern girl so 99% of the time it's thank you.

I say "thank you, but I didn't sneeze". Then the person looks very puzzled and walks away. smile001.gif
