What do you do to enhance your memory?
I've read some books on memory, and most suggest that making stronger mental connections is the way to go. I've found this to be true. I diet, exercise, meditate, practice good sleep hygiene, and try to come up with new tactics to remember things I want to remember. For instance, someone told me about an icebreaker they do with their class where they have their students associate their name with an adjective that they think best describes them as a person. I immediately picked this up because I pay a lot of attention to behavior and believe that connecting the two will make it stronger where other icebreakers don't help me as much.
When i was very young my grandfather told me he built rooms.in his mind to remember things. I thought it was a super cool idea and have been doing that without even thinking about it since I was little. There's a fancy word for the technique but I can't see to remember it hahahahahah
@TheMiddleWay thanks! I find it works for things you don't want to remember as well...make a room then lock the door...although that might not be a healthy coping mechanism hahahahaha
Don't avoid complex problems in life, they help build brain cells...
