Based on my reading, part of it is the big bang and another is physics talk of dark energy.

There is no answer other than it just does.

Correct. At the current time we simply do not know. I'm not even sure of a "big bang." What does seem to be certain is that everything suddenly started expanding quickly and appears to still be doing so.

@DenoPenno The Big Bang is a false and flawed theory. The Universe has always been here - there was no beginning.

@gater I am inclined to agree with you. The universe (cosmos if you will) then becomes this mysterious god who has always existed that Christians talk about. The only proof I have is that we are star stuff. Our problem is that this is too big of a concept for many to grasp.

@DenoPenno I speak the truth - space does extend forever and its always been that way. And I think you're right - most people can only comprehend so much, and this idea is beyond their ability to grasp.

@gater i did not realize you were there.

scientists who believe the big bang was not the beginning still believe it was the beginning of THIS universe, which will not expand forever -- that there may have been a universe or universes before this one, which contracted and then banged into the next one. none of them claims this IS how it it, just that it COULD be how it is, with varying degrees of likelihood. you, on the other hand, have the truth, i guess.

g

@genessa There is only one Universe - its always been here, always will be, it extends forever. That's the truth.

@gater as i said... you were there so you know. i'm glad you're so sure. some of us are still exploring. it's all over for you. whatever will you do now?

g

@genessa Im positive. Logic gave me all the answers.

@gater how nice FOR you.

g

@genessa It is nice - theres a peace that comes with understanding.

@gater there is also peace that comes with the illusion of understanding, and drugs can do that too. that kind of peace is less than peaceful for the folks who have to put up with the deluded and drugged.

g

@gater You're straight up wrong. I don't have the time nor the inclination to get into it, but whatever research you've done on this subject has been inadequate to the task. I'm a former astronomer and astrophysicist, but you will just ignore silly things like credentials anyway, hence this will be my only response to this ridiculous belief.

@PolyWolf Its ridiculous to think that Time and Space are not infinite.

@genessa lol - you just can't accept the truth.

@gater whatever, o keeper of the truth. back to your bubble. shoo!

g

@genessa I suppose you are one of those that believe the earth is the center of the Universe - do you believe the Sun moves around the earth too?

@PolyWolf yeah I do ignore your credentials, because you can't grasp basic logic
