Indications of scammers on dating sites. Does anyone have any hints? It is hard to find trust again after being scammed. How do I know if someone is for real? I find it suspicious when someone says that they are a native English speaker and then makes a lot of grammatical errors. Is that a sign? How about when they too good looking? Any other signs.
Be suspicious,do a reverse phone number look up,I used one last night that told me a lot about the Woman who showed interest in me. it was www.whocallsme.com Many phone calls are re-routed to Nigeria or any country other than the US. About the safest is a local contact,not someone hundreds of miles,or further away(although,romances have been created here, and a few marriages have been taken place).
How about when they try to get your phone number right away. What are they trying to achieve?
The two Women I met on this site seemed genuine,but when tried a phone call,it was re-routed to Africa,when asking my ISP,they could only trace so far,the call was full of distortions,and a noisy back ground with African Men talking,so beware,do not give up your heart without verifying just who are where youare talking to, "Catfishing" it's called.
Just like any other offer; if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. That said, I know several people who met the love of their lives online. So, to a certain extent, like everything else in life, some people are luckier than others.
If they show interest, in my experience, they're fake! lol
Sadly funny.
They tell you fairly quickly that they find you captivating in some way. Almost always an engineer or high up in the military.
You mean I'm not captivating?
@Stephanie99 LOL
I have no doubt that you are indeed quite captivating.
Let's hear some stories!
@ProudMary I like your sense of humor.
