I LOVE this series. It's been a few years since it was finished after the death of Robert Jordan the original writer. The guy who finished up the series, Brandon Sanderson, is a talented writer in his own right. I started reading some of his other stuff (the Steelheart trilogy, the Mistborn series), and he never let me down. This is big news to me, I hope they don't screw it up. It is truly epic in scope with fantastic characters and a great magic mythology. Yay!

I'm hesitantly optimistic. I've read most of the books but need to finish up the last few. The series was supposed to end at 3, and then was stretched out (a bit too much in my opinion) and I'm hoping it ended strong. Regardless, it would make a great television series if done and cast well.

I never read these because they seemed like too big a project for the limited time I had available for reading, but I'm interested to see what they can do with a TV series.

My eldest niece posted about this last night. She is terribly excited for this series.
I don't know if I have any interest. Depends on how I feel when Game of Thrones ends. If I'm disappointed in the ending, I will probably be reluctant to invest in another fantasy series.

Don't let Game of Thrones decide for you! It's an average, at best series turned into great TV. WoT starts out as a great book series and could be great TV. The plot is way better, and the books are actually completed.

@Xuande That's just it. I honestly am not that big on the whole "fantasy" genre.
In truth, I probably won't pay it any mind. Hope you enjoy it though.

@KKGator Fair enough. To each their own! Have a great one!

Greatest completed fantasy series of all-time. If they do it right, it could be huge. Even better, it doesn't have to be 14 seasons. Cut away some ancillary characters, especially in the middle books, and you can shorten it to something more manageable. Absolutely cannot wait.

I'm just excited to experience it in a format that doesn't involve spending 1/3 of the time describing travel where nothing happens. 😛
