That's funny and nostalgic. My mother hung clothes on a line, and washed with a wringer washer; two rubber rollers pressed water from the clothes. Once she got her hand caught between them and bruised. That was 50s or early 60s.

for a long time ppl lost fingers and arms in them ours wasn't that strong but I used a wringer washer long time when a kid and did all the laundry

and then sprinkling most and rolling them storing in a bag in the frig cause freezers were so small unless you had a chest freezer

@whiskywoman I remember the sprinkling and bag, but mom didn't store it in the frig. She just ironed before they soured.

@EdEarl course we did too but you had to iron everything we ironed lots and sometimes could get it all done sometimes not

@whiskywoman It's a smart idea, just didn't see mom do it.
