Help...I now see another one of my 5 children is ‘bat-shit’ crazy for trump! He believes the Democrats are a ‘cult,’ and were trying to ruin the reputation of ‘a good man,’ Kavanaugh...with Ford’s account, which was fabricated! So for sure, two of my children are ‘batshit,’ crazy for trump and the third, has the stench! That leaves two others, working off good common sense! This is devastating, I have never instructed my children thus so and I never set that kind of example! Where did I go wrong? I feel some responsibility, and I see no where that I can correct anything! I can’t even get a word in ‘edgewise!’ As a mother, this is a real nightmare! If trump has tapped into the ‘sickness,’ of 3 out of 5 of my children, (all in their 50s and 60), what does this say about so many other people in this country? My ‘trump children,’ have power now...they can even overpower me! How, does a parent process this?

I feel sorry for your loss! I have a sister who is also an ardent Trump supporter. We avoid the issue. But she fell off a horse 20 years ago and sustained a brain injury that almost killed her. I attribute her fondness for assholes because of this... And who she married. But that is another story!

In my life time, I cannot remember so many people all at once...being at odds with one another! It might be one on one, and that would blow over and people continued on!

It's not your fault that Trump has given them the power to see that white privilege is something they think they deserve. This is why Trumpians go batshit crazy. As for the Dems being a "cult" would that not make them religious? People need to see that this is not a "Dem and GOP" thing. This is an "us vs. them" thing. It has no real political boundaries and only the racial ones that Trump clamors over. Trump plays to people who somehow think they have lost out on something they greatly deserve. He offers a "quick fix" that really is not there. When it fails his supporters will cry out that nobody left Trump alone so he could do his job. All his job really was from the beginning was to stir you up. Tweet, make noise, keep you distracted, and stir you up.

You are so right! But, it is heartbreaking!

Once they are out of the nest, they think independently, or not.

I wish he did think independently...his thinking sounds more like a totally illogical person! I have spoken to people in mental hospitals with more clarity!

@Freedompath Our son is Christian, sort of, and looses keys, wallet, clothes, ....

@EdEarl that’s not funny, but I had to laugh! I have been thinking about their age group. My oldest daughter 62 and son 58, have classmates that are leaders and successful! The next son the trump worshiper 57, and next is t.w. daughter 56 and son 55, they had a lot of classmates to die, addiction, accidents and mostly not real successful people among them! I find that very interesting!

@EdEarl I have a friend here that has 2 autistic sons, that came to mind with your son...wonder if yours could be on the spectrum? Her husband who has passed, was also autistic!

@Freedompath No, Mike is a salesman; he is definitely not autistic. He hurries too much because he is always late.

@EdEarl maybe so, but these are college educated people!

@Freedompath Mike is not college educated. We offered to pay his tuition, but he didn't want it.

What did they learn in college. Grade schools need to teach critical thinking.

@EdEarl critical thinking, should be taught and practiced for longer than they doing now! That’s for sure!

@Freedompath It's not being taught at all until Philosophy and Logic at a university, AFAIK. Even there, only a few people take the necessary classes.

@EdEarl that is what happens when only a few people are allowed to select what a child should learn in public school! And then you have the home schooling people who want to save their children from the evils of society!! Lol... my granddaughter lived in a very low income area, where so many families were home schooling and my daughter nor I...could break through to her! And, we never really had a lot of bad interactions up until then! But, by then her husband was attempting to preach, too! Ofcourse self appointed! It has been all down hill in the last 6-8 yrs, divorce and all down hill, except my daughter and her husband have tried to keep children heading in a healthy direction, as teenagers!

@Freedompath I hope the children are OK or get the help they need. We got a happy one, MIchelle who has been married once and seems to be doing well, and another, Mike, who has difficulty chewing gum.

@EdEarl my great grand children seem more balanced than their parents! It has a lot to do with being Evangelicals, their reality is altered, when they succumb to that strict religion! And, adults seem very hard to bring out...or even bring in new information!

@Freedompath I know, all my Mom's family are fundamentalists.

@EdEarl omg! Well that is disappointing to hear about! My mother brother (both dead) and sister are too! Probably contributed to my sisters severe mental illness! Lots of ‘backwoods, child molester’ preachers in my mothers family! My grandfather died in the pulpit when I was a toddler! Glad I never knew him, really...the roomers, were all I could stand!

@Freedompath It's a awful so many kids endure abuse of any kind.

@EdEarl it is that male dominance, combined with ‘men with the word of god, who were called by the Holy Spirit!’ Nobody is allowed to put them down! A sick feeling comes over me, carried from my childhood!, of powerlessness!

@Freedompath It's not merely male dominance; there are several reasons men become preachers, including being a con-man or power monger. They are just men or women; you can purge your psyche of that "sick feeling."

@EdEarl when I go back into the ‘archives,’ for research...I find the imprint is still there! All those imprints made me into who I am today, in one way or the other!

@EdEarl one of my friends sons, works at Best Buy, with college degree! I forget what the other son does!

@Freedompath Over-education is common, apparently.

My dad & brother feel the same about me swinging the other way. Makes get-togethers awkward.

This son is 6ft 3, and has always been a little overpowering, but now trying to relate to him it is totally overwhelming!

1

Is it too late to take them to Planned Parenthood?

Omh! Lol It is sad, it was not easy having 5 children especially with an alcoholic husband (their dad)! Just a very bad feeling, now!

2

I am sorry. That is distressing. I do not think you can do too much about it. Just make sure you express how you feel. How do your grandkids feel about Trump?

Kinda confused! Not clear on what is going on!

How many of your kids have to become Trump fans until you realize that you are the crazy one?

gater Level 7 Oct 8, 2018

Good question? It does cause me to question myself! But, I came from a family of serious mental illness and I have had years of therapy and I do feel pretty confident about my own reasoning abilities! And I can see this son, is in serious delusion!

@Freedompath Trump is a great man - a brilliant man - and every American should be grateful for what he is doing for them - Its pathetic how awful the left wing news treats him.

@gater I am only a few years older than that man, he married the gal from Ga, that he cheated with, so I have followed him most of my adult life and he lacks morals, ethics and a multitude of other redeeming qualities! Research, ALL of his past! Now, if you feel a burning desire to hitch your wagon to a person that I just described, then you go for it! But, it would be in your best interest to choose a role model that exemplified a higher human state of being!

@Freedompath Hes not a minister - hes a businessman - hes fixing the country at a record pace - I don't care if he was a womanizer - I care what he is now.

@gater he bankrupted hundreds of small businesses...by hiring them at a specific quote and then when the job was finished he would pay them way below the quoted amount,...he then told them they charged to much and if they wanted the rest of the money...they would need to take him to court for it! Well, ofcourse most people knew it would cost too much to do that...so hundreds of small contractors and businesses even went bankrupt! (Trump had 3,500 lawsuits against him, more than 5 other billionaires all together.) This is only the tip of the iceberg! Not room here nor do I want to gather up all the facts, at this moment! In my study of human behavior, when a person cheats other people, I will soon end up cheated by this same person...if I interact with them long enough! Please oh please hook your wagon to this corrupt business man...and just remember you chose that path and don’t blame others when you end up with is what you get! Good luck!

@Freedompath Right - a booming economy, record low unemployment, record high stock market, Peace in North Korea after 70 years of failed diplomacy...the list goes on and on.

@gater Economies come and go...when trump gets through with all the tariffs, you will see what is left! He is having to subsidize big farmers right now, I know for sure in the middle of the country, because they can’t stay a float! I suggest that you extend your research!
I have never been ‘charmed,’ out of my reality! I keep very close tabs on that at all times! Follow the ‘fools gold,’ and see where it takes you...just don’t blame others, when you end up holding nothing but the dust! None of us can escape our ‘operating habits,’ they are part of our nature! That’s all I’m saying!

@Freedompath No - Economies don't come and go - Trump is responsible for this booming economy - I suggest you deal with reality.

@gater I suggest you REMEMBER who brought this economy out from the brink, (I was awake back then)...trump has been reaping the rewards of smarter folks! You either have a selective memory or you are trying to pull one over on me! Sir, I did not come here on s turnip truck!

@Freedompath Lady - you are clueless as to Trumps brilliance. lol smarter folks??? lol - Thanks for the laugh

@gater I noticed first off, that nothing I said (which can even be researched) from the beginning was taken seriously...i provided many (personal remembrance and reported evidence) examples of some of my grievances and you have not been able to provide me with tangible evidence of ‘trump’s brilliance’ except your idolization of the man...maybe that works with other people, but I have never idolized people myself and it for sure...proves no one’s brilliance! Just saying something...will never make it so...no matter how much you stomp your feet or scream in protest!

They're adults now sis..they can drink from the Kool Aid cup as They chose. This in No way is Your parenting. It's a reflection of Their choices.

I know...we all work out our own issues, over our life time, but he is so out in ‘right’ field, it makes some of those people on TV, look like amateurs! Where will this kind of thinking take him?

@Freedompath is he married? If so, be corncerned, but don't stress, that's his wife job.

@Charlene oh! He is married! They once loved each other, when they started out, I hope it is still viable!

@Freedompath as for him yelling over you, that's what they do..

@Charlene exactly, daughter does exact same thing and with TALKING POINTS, from ‘right wing media!!!’ You can see why I put 1500 miles between us? They want be able to visit often!!!

Good for him!

Do you get along well, with people who can’t have a give and take conversation...they can only give every little detail of their activities, which could have been explained in one third of those details, and you would know clearly what went down? Then, on the other hand, you aren’t a mother either!
