About half an hour ago I was confronted, upon opening my front door, with 2 of the Faithfools from the Jehovahs' Witnesses wanting to bring me the word of God.
When I very politely told them that I was not interested in any way in their belief or their God and was an Atheist their response was one of extremely visible shock and a rather terse, condescending " Well then, we will pray for you."
Taken quite aback by this I responded quite quietly and politely with " Do as you wish, it'll be no skin off my knees and besides it is far better, is it not, to stand tall as a free person than to spend your life on yours knees as slave?"
As walked away they continued to tell me that my kind were destined for an Eternity of Hellfire and Suffering unless I let God into my heart, etc, etc, ad nauseum.
What in the name of all that is reality IS wrong with these kinds of people, can they not just take a simple NO for answer and be done with it?

They are programmed to press on people their stupidity....To accept a "NO" will be they are reasoning and understanding your ways....as you know those two are not part of any religion

No, they cannot take NO for an answer. Let the damned say NO to the chosen elite? Heaven forbid!

Jehovah's Witnesess have come to my door many times over the years. Usually, I don't answer the door. I've had discussions a few times when I haven't been able to avoid them. I tell them that I believe just as strongly in there not being a God, as they do in their belief that there is a God. Eventually, they will hand me a pamphlet and walk away. But, they are very persistent.

i have never been bothered by jw where i live now, but mormons were very rude to me when i wouldn't open the door in nagoya, japan. i told them, truthfully, that i was naked. they called me names. i called their superior and reported them. they never came back. i didn't get dressed again until i had to, either.

They came to my house once. I told them I don't subscribe to a "judeo-christian belief system" & was a wiccan. When they asked what a wiccan is , i said, "you know...(dramatic pause, big grin)...a witch". They could not get off my porch or my land fast enough & they have not visited in the last 18 years. Pretty sure I'm on a 'do not convert' list.

A while back I let one of the Jehovah's Witless faithfool into my house to hear her spiel. She kept staring at my paintball gun (on the coffee table for cleaning) and didn't really give a very good talk. A few weeks later she called the police and said that I was a terrorist with hostages and my house was surrounded by a SWAT team. If I'd been home at the time I'd probably have been upset about it. Eventually the police figured out that it was a false alarm and left. I don't let them in anymore.
