Does anyone know what these are? They have the texture of old man balls.

Not guava. Maybe a type of Indian pear?

I have reason to believe it's not a fruit, but only with circumstantial reasoning.

I wouldn't know bout that texture, but I suggest green figs?

It's possible, but I'm not sure.

But seriously, they look a little rutabaga or turnip'y.

Is the flesh white or gold?

@Minta79 It's sort of green and white.

@PolyWolf the inside is green and white, too? It could be jicama. Jicama would be bright white inside and earthy, but not overly sweet. Rutabaga would be gold inside and more sweet than earthy. Turnip would be off white and taste kind of like a bland carrot. My money is on jicama because of the greenish hue, and lack of distinct top coloring.

From whence did these old man balls come?

@PolyWolf cut one open and post pics 🙂

@Minta79 Jicama is usually brown-skinned and hairy (a little bit), isn't it?

@PolyWolf no. It's quite smooth and white, but any root veg can be a bit green if exposed to sunlight before it's ready.
