I came across this quote by Osho:

“That Jesus ascended to heaven alive and Mary also is as absurd as the Mohammedan concept. But Mohammed did a far better miracle; he ascended to heaven alive with his horse, both alive. Strange! What will the horse be doing amongst the saints? He must be dying to come back to earth.”

And I thought it was pretty funny. But I’ve also heard people seriously ask if their pets — cats and dogs — were going to be coming to heaven. I mean, how absurd.

If there is going to be an afterlife I’m sure it will be much more marvellous than anything we can come up with, and it’s not going to involve any flavour of Abrahamic god.
