The generalization you make makes it hard to tell.
There are wealthy well ruled countries like Quatar and then there's Afghanistan which has had little economic development pre Soviet invasion and who was ruled autocraticly and adhere to a strict fundamentalist interpretation of Islam.
I don't think Islam makes a country violent I think economic development style of leadership and openness to outsiders has more of an influence than anything else regardless of religion.
An even comparison would have to be between countries of similar social economic development and status dividing them between those that have a predominantly Theocratic leadership versus a non-religious rule.
Many religions contain text that can be interpreted as being justification for violence against a group you don't like. The Bible is full of them most modern Christians just choose to ignore that. I think a willingness to commit violence can be justified using just about any religious or non-religious means.

Actually I have red them both and the Bible is way more violent than the Koran.
