The serious factual answer is elephants.

@DoDapper As I am unlikely to ever meet any of them in the wild my answer stands.

Snakes, dogs, crocodiles and hippopotamus kill more than elephants every year, but there are 2 animals which really stand out as killing machines. In at number 2 is good old homosapiens. Kills more humans than any other large animal on the planet and probably more mammals than any other species.

But death by human pales into insignificance against the good old mosquito which kills more humans than all the other animals added together.

So a hundred deaths from elephant trampling is really insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

So? Where's the real answer?

Because of how much their natural habits have been limited and the traveling creatures they are on top of that - The serious factual answer is elephants.
