Perhaps this site should change its name to atheist.com as many posts and responses of late seem to hold the same evangelical and dogmatic stance about atheism as some forms of Christianity.

Each to their own, belief or non belief, don't really give a toss. I am an atheist, it's not that I 'believe' there are no gods I just see no evidence for the existence of any. When that situation changes so might my viewpoint.

We have to be militant. Even though Ireland is voting to remove the blasphemy shit from their constitution, elsewhere, including the US, "religious" freedom is winning the day.
Reasonable people, including children are shunned, beaten, killed, just for asking questions.
For us to not be so in-their-face is to not recognize the increasing fascism spreading 'round the world, and not understand the depth of the threat to us.
We must spread the word or become like those who said nothing during the purges.
Europe is knee deep in the insanity of islam's war on science and reason. Trump and pence,... all aspire to such control.

Some people on here are absolute atheists, some like me are agnostic. I believe there's room for both. Otherwise I agree, one can be a fundamentalist about anything.

The big difference is that Atheism is based upon facts where as Christianity is based upon impossibilities with no evidence.

I'm not sure that isn't saying that one's non-god is bigger than someone else god. It seems that quite a selection of the atheist community want to slug it out with the size of the non-god rather than have an agnostic conversation. Just sayin'! However you look at it atheism is still a belief system with its own rhetoric and condescension.

@Geoffrey51 , actually, Atheists don't have a belief system. That's why it's not a religion.

@chucklesIII Its seems that much of the intercourse here indicates quite a strong belief that there is no god.

@Geoffrey51 , if you can say ' not believing ' is a belief.

Good point. Atheists say they have no burden of proof but some of them sure make a lot of attacks.
