Do you have a book you bought perhaps as a holiday read that never got read and still sits on your shelves staring at you in an accusatory manner. What is it and why did you not read it?

"Middlemarch" by George Eliot. The book's 912 pages is intimidating to me. It's on many Best Book lists and it sounds great so I hope to get to it next year.

I was force fed 'Night Runners of Bengal' by John Masters for my Eng Lit 'O' Level, hated the bloody thing.

A million years later it still irked that I never really got it and tracked down a copy on Ebay. I still didn't like it, didn't finish it and thought life's too short for this and gave it to charity πŸ™‚

Vanity fair & Anna Karenina. I meant to read a few classics but they didn't grip me. Too much like soap operas. I stuck it out with Moby Dick though. Great read.
