Just saw an interview with a well-known actress who says she's now only taking on "passion projects." Oh, how noble of her! (Yes, I'm being sarcastic.) 95% of working actors are just grateful to have jobs -- heck, pretty much most of the general population is grateful to have work. Just go entertain me, and unless you're using your celebrity to further a cause, shut up about how special you are.

If you allow the personal choice of a celebrity you have no relationship with bother you so much, you must be a pretty angry person.

Oh, you've assumed that so easily. Of course I am. I hate everyone, particularly judgmental people who don't even know me.

I sit all day and stew in my own hatred.

Why even click on the article to read that much if it pisses you off?

I distance myself from those living in another reality. Pro sports/musicians/actors are people that live in a different world and I give exactly 0 fucks what they do there. I have no idea why any people care what they do other than their job

Was on a morning news show. Between the news and the weather.

@bleurowz ahh yes...."news" these days are what the "stars" eat and workout routines look like.

Unless she was saying it in a context that belittles those who don't have that luxury, or smugly refusing to recognize that it is a luxury, I don't see the problem. I suppose she was looking down on those who have lower standards, as if it's a choice? If so booo.

I heard someone (probably Penn Jillette) on a podcast mention that Dustin Hoffman and Gene Hackman were roommates as young struggling actors. I forget which was which but one of them took any role he could get and the other took only the roles he believed in. The point is that in the long run neither of them came off significantly better or worse than the other. So yeah fuck it do whatcha gotta do. If you don't gotta thats cool too.

I have a similar reaction when young people are advised to “find their passion” careerwise. Some may have that luxury, but most folks just need to find a way to learn something useful in order to survive. Depending on who and where you are, options can be limited.

care to share who it was?

Sarah Jessica Parker. Who I usually like, she seems more grounded than most celebrities. She was talking about her latest film this way. It just turned me off.

@PalacinkyPDX Hmm. Interesting.

lol i know less about kim catrall than i know about sarah jessica parker so i could not settle a dispute between them.
