I like to eat meat. Nothing against veggies, I have some best buds who are veggies. I believe we are part of the food chain, whith the fortunate privilege of intellect. Three cheers for a great steak
Oh I love meat, A great stake is just that . I wish I enjoyed vegetables as I know I am missing a lot. I have tried many differently prepared veggies but no go. Such as seafood, I am the odd one out. I cannot stand seafood that taste like seafood and yet I am the one missing out on a pleasure.
i have diabetes. i also have the teeth and digestive system of an omnivore (and enough education to know that omnivorousness is part of the adaptability that helps a species survive -- albeit i am not a true omnivore in that i don't eat tin cans, other things that are not actually food, celery because i don't care for it and for no other reason, or anything with which an animal thinks or makes love). those elements make me quite fond of animal protein, and if i can eat a potato i didn't grow, i can eat a cow i didn't eat (responding to a comment below). there are animals who would willingly eat me if they could, and i don't resent that (even as i deliberately don't walk up to lions and say "hi, i'm here for dinner.. yours!" ) i adore vegetables (and fruits, and grains, and dairy foods). i proportion my meals so that they are usually lighter on meat than on veg, most of the time. but the meat (or fish, or poultry) is there, it's not microscopic, and it needs to be there.

Vegans are like evangelical Christians; they're utterly convinced that they're right and that they have a responsibility to show everyone the truth. Including their cats. Which are biologically carnivores.
You do you, vegans. But don't try to stop me from eating my chicken jalfrezi tonight. And for fuck's sake, DON'T MAKE YOUR CAT EAT VEGETABLES.
Also, don't force your cat to be an exclusively inside animal, dependant on a human for its every need. Cats are territorial range predators. Let them outside, and they'll feed themselves.
@Minta79 My cats were adopted as feral kittens, so they definitely need outside time. Fortunately, we have a big enough garden to give them that.
@Minta79 my cats would be dead by now if they were outdoor cats. just because their ancestors roamed i should expose mine to wild animals, mean humans (especially on hallowe'en), cars, chemicals on lawns and gardens, and all manner of disease (not to mention annoying the crap out of the neighbors and making their indoor cats crazy)? oh, and cats are animals that reproduce. they have sex and make babies. how dare they be neutered to deprive them of that. so i should let them outside to make some feral cats. right. i don't THINK so.
@Minta79 you're right, i took you at face value. i am relieved! i would never let my cats outside for the reasons mentioned (and they're all super old now anyway) but i would not presume to try to control what others do, once i've said my piece anyway lol. about vegans: every vegan i have ever known has gotten so ill from their diet that they reverted to semi-vegetarian with just enough animal protein to help them maintain as they should. it wasn't my business; they didn't change because of me. they all chose their paths and they all chose to stop being vegan, quite on their own. i never said "you are sick because you're vegan. cut it out!" but vegans think they should tell everyone else to stop eating meat, eggs, dairy, whatever all else they think makes THEM healthier or better people. if i don't try to change their diets, why should they try to change mine?

And whatever happened to vegetarian? It's like you can't even try do be a decent healthy person without being "extra".
@PalacinkyPDX That's essentially why I eat free range products at every possible opportunity. I don't intend to be party to battery farming.
@Gooniesnvrdie truthfully, I donβt think too deeply about this stuff anymore, I prefer to live and let live with just enough of a healthy dose of shit stirring to keep my small mind amused. Peace out brother. β??
