A query here that perhaps some 'closeted' Theist amongst us may be able to answer.
IF this Abrahamic God is so Omnipotent ( All Powerful) and Omnipresent ( Everywhere at exactly the same time) then WHY, exactly and precisely, does he/she/it require/need the services of mere, fallible mortals to DO his/her/its own work on his/her/its behalf in the first place?

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.I think the standard line given out is, we are members of the "body of Christ" and it is through us he does stuff in the world. There's a minority view in Christendom that petitioning prayers are not even legit; rather, one must use meditative prayer, of the "not my will, but Yours be done" variety.
On the other hand, most of them will opine that "god is in control" and "god answers prayer" and so forth. There's no coherent reason for it, it's disordered thinking and logically inconsistent. That has never bothered a theist though.

@Triphid I think that’s whay angels are for: mindless, winged toadies who slavishy do whatever God wants. (Lucifer and his buddies being the outstanding exception to the rule!) Supposedly, humans have that “free will” thing, and so are eternally unreliable. We also just have a bad attitude.
@Triphid OK, a bit more seriously, my friend: I think some types of people want to associate themselves with something they hope is seen as powerful and “in the right.” It’s a kind of self-justification and self-aggrandizement. I wonder if It doesn’t come from low self-esteem, maybe taught by their culture or religion, You feel big because you’re working for a Big God (or political party, or corporation, or country ...). BUT, I know some people who, in the name of their god, do some genuinely kind and good things, and I won’t take away trom that. Still, I think such ideas do more harm than good.
