I'm the grandson of a WWII vet that drove a tank. It doesn't mean I know shit about driving a tank or military operations.

I also played baseball at every level below the minors and MLB and know a shit ton about baseball and strategy and whatever else there is to know about baseball. It doesn't mean I'm qualified to manage the New York Yankees.

Off topic, sorry, but when she and W were in power, did anyone other than me think they had a thing going on?

Another milestone for misunderstood diversity

Total bull story. She may know a lot about football as a fan; but she has no experience playing or coaching. Ain't going to happen.

I mean, it would be hard to make them worse...

well she can't start any shooting wars there so it seems a safe place to put her. she's not stupid. she's not ethical or honest either, but we're talking about sports now, right? so she'll fit right in.

That would be interesting indeed.

I had to look this one up to know if you were joking or not.
Now I know she has some credentials -she was on the first CFP playoff committee- and, politics aside, I don't question her leadership skills. But head coach? That seems odd to me. And not because she's a woman. Arizona had (has?) a female coach. I forget what position exactly but she was either a coordinator or training coach or something like that. But having had coaching and (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong) playing experience, I would have no issue seeing her elevated to a head coaching position.
But Condy Rice? Again, seems odd to me. At the same time, I'm all about shaking things up and making inroads in the name of diversity. Let's see what happens.

Being a super fan doesn't make you a coach. Being a coach makes you better. Look what happened at Notre Dame, now many years ago, when they brought in a top high school coach to coach college football. At every level coaching is a jump and you have to respond in a different manner. I've coached young kids, middle school, and high school and I don't doubt had I transitioned higher it would have been hard for me. Even at the high school level, I found it harder because I was better at teaching skills and a love of the game, not the win no matter what attitude one needs.
