Why r ppl still talking of heaven in this the Information Age? The absurdity of heaven can be fully exposed by the simplest of questions. Where is it ? What happens thete , sit and do nothing ? Even ur mother don't want u sit and do nothing . Do u meet ur dead spouses there ? Is it overcrowded, what about food and music and clothes etc etc. there is no answer to these simple questions and yet ppl believe the stupidity. Of the heaven idea.

There is a heaven and we’re in it right now all the time.

There's an old song that has words in it that say "in heaven there is no beer and that's why we drink it here." (Beer Barrel Poka?) IDK. I know people who actually cite this as a "truth" about heaven. What they forget is that in some parts of the world the religious have no problems with drinking beer. Nobody thought about that.

Then we have that "streets of gold" thing. Obviously not true.

There are all kinds of answers to those questions, but they're just as made up and arbitrary as the premise itself if you're treating it like a literal place.

I believe if there's anything useful to be taken from the concepts of heaven and hell it's that they're not places at all, but they are states of mind. A good metaphorical example I've heard is that in hell, everyone is sitting at a banquet, ravenously hungry, only able to move their legs and use jumbo chopsticks with their feet. Everyone is fighting each other for space and knocking food off each others utensils in a mad rush trying to feed themselves and no one gets a bite.

In heaven, they're seated the same way, with the same impediments, but they're feeding each other.
