Anybody outhere watched or read Cool Hand Luke? It’s one of my favorite stories. I aint got the skill to tell you exactly why I love it, but this guy on youtube gets pretty close.
For myself, the movie parallels my thoughts on religion, my non-conformist nature and how many seek someone to show them “the way.”

The movie represents the book quite well, but movies rarely share every detail.
A classic! Lots of great performances, plus great lines, from "what we have here is a failure to communicate," to "shaking the bush, boss!"

@maturin1919 I need to be better about prescreening them. A few I thought I remembered well, then was surprised by some content. I'm looking at you "The Shining."
@Minta79 There is a “sexy” scene, half naked men and a dead dog but there is no nudity or obscene violence.
Did not know it was a book. Saw the movie in high school film class.

Paul Newman as the main chatacter is reason enough.
