I live in Oklahoma and I am trying to find a lady that will tolerate an atheist. I think i'm a pretty good guy but I suspect when a prospective lady reads my profile they move on. I don't feel it is right to not tell them up front. Will I find someone on here?

Your profile says that you are here for the community. Why not choose the option to say you are open to meeting women? This site may not work super well as a "dating" site, but one never knows. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback.

I live in Oklahoma too. My religious friends tolerate my atheism but I am tolerant of my religious friends as well.

Oddly enough I have dated some very nice ladies and find they are not all that theistic. Of course that probably makes sense since I try to choose candidates that don't have "GOD comes first" as the first line of their bio.

My 2 cents is cut out all the "I am..." sentences, it comes off kinda narcisistic, which you don't seem to be, but "I...I...I" inadvertantly comes off that way. Keep the info, just change the sentence strucutre... "Insatiably curious, about the world, multiple hobbies, and meeting intersting people" for example. Same info and jist of your profile, but more focused on interests and personality, not on you...if that makes sense.

GL - this dating site doesn't seem to be much on dating; more about a chat/blog site on all kinds of topics.

Great feedback. Thanks. I'll tinker with the profile today.

Be positive. You are new here & there are a wide variety of interesting, intelligent people on site.
BTW, I think you hair is attractive. To me, long hair on men indicates independence & individuality. Good luck.

Good or bad my hair has always seemed to be the physical part that identifies who I am. It is such a relief to be able to relax and know i have fellow atheist I can visit with.

It's possible. I live in Illinois, and figure my odds of finding a non-religious man here are pretty slim. Sounds like we're in similar boats.

Welcome! ♥ It's a great site as the Believers are already weeded out. You have a nice profile I wish you success.

Most women I know don't like long hair on men.

With online dating, your profile and photos are an advertisement to attract the type of women you want to date.

What matters more than anything when it comes to your online dating profile? One word: Photos. Photos can drastically increase your chances of getting more communication and dates. Or not.

“Use your photos as a primary tool to express who you are, what you love to do, where you love to go and what type of lifestyle you lead.” (From “The Most Successful Online Dating Profile Photos Revealed” by EHarmony, 2014.)

Want to completely kill any chances of success? Then upload blurry, dark or poor quality images. This seems like an obvious statement, but thousands of people upload pics like this.

You have 5 seconds to make a good impression. Women will see your main photo as a tiny pic the size of a saltine cracker on their cell phone screens. If your main photo is not clear, bright and attractive, they move on.

A genuine smile is inviting, warm and appealing. Women want to see your eyes and smile.

If you look happy in your photos, women will see you as a fun person they will enjoy being around.

Your main photo should be a head-and-shoulder shot, showing you SMILING and looking at the camera. You also need one full body shot, again taken outdoors and smiling.

Other pictures should show you outdoors, doing activities you enjoy.

Probably not

I am sure you'll find what you are looking for

If Bono hasn't...what chance does guys like us stand? 😀

@jondspen Like what?

@Amisja Normal dudes that aren't international rock stars...but "still haven't found what {we're} looking for" either. Guessing you're not a U2 fan since you didn't get the decades old song reference 😀

@jondspen Of course I did. However that is irrelevant. Human beings have been around for about 300, 000 years and the vast majority of them eventually ended up with someone, in whatever context worked for them. It is ridiculous to suggest that women are only attracted to rich famous men. I actually can't stand Bono, he is an egotist. I wished you well...why attact me for that?

@Amisja OMG...I never said women were only attracted to rich famous men; what is truely ridiculous is you twisting my words so grossly out of context and felt attacked when nothing I said was an attack, in general towards women or personally against you. I made a joke since your comment was "find what you are looking for"...that almost match word for word to the song lyrics. I say something similar when a store clerk asks me if I found everything I was looking for. Lighten up a little...

@jondspen If Bono hasn't...what chance does guys like us stand? ...your words

@Amisja Yes..thank you...I can read what I said. How in the hell is that an attack against you? Bono, very popular musician and well known, with millions of fans and money to travel all over the world, afforded the opportunity to meet more people in a year that I might my entire life, has a song with the lyrics "I still haven't found what I'm looking for", which closely mirrors the words in your comment...that's it. Jeez...

@jondspen Its about his loss of Christian religion, not looking for a partner

@Amisja OK....one more time...it was just song lyrics that closely matched the words in your comment...that's it. There was no nefarious, malevolent agenda in it, nor some deep hidden meaning. You continue to take it way out of context. Will you please just give me the benefit of the doubt that I am not lying to you? It was just a simple song reference due to word similarities.
