With what passes for winter approaching, my wife and I decided it would be a wise precaution to get a flu jab.
At midday we popped in to the town's medical centre to make an appointment for one. Twenty minutes later we left, having both been inoculated. All completely free of course, the philosophy being that prevention is cheaper than cure.
Spain does indeed have the right medical care philosophy.

I got my flu shot free also.

I got not only a flu shot, but pneumonia as well. Since I am frequently around youngsters I figure my extra protection may be good for them as well. I could not get a shingles vaccine, the MD office was out and suggested I call my insurance company to see if it was covered. FFS, I don't want to jump through extra hurdles.

I forgot to do this at my Doctor's this year - so I stopped into a pharmacy and had it done in about 20 minutes. Part of my. insurance coverage through SSDI. (No co-pay).

If you have insurance in the US it's not too bad. If you don't you are screwed.

@germangirl90439 None. Gov. Handles it because I am so poor.

@germangirl90439 Oh, I am aware I have it good! lol

I've never had a flu shot. I think it was $27 last year at the county health dept. Pretty f'n expensive for so-so protection.
