That time of year again when adults put small children on the knee of a complete stranger, perpetuating the myth there is a santa claus and never thinking that the guy in the costume might be a pedo'.......
My issue with the santa thing is that we tell our children to avoid strangers and then force them onto the lap of a stranger or force them to hug distant relatives they do not know.
Or respond to strangers at the grocery store because that is "polite"
Then when they do those hidden camera things to test their children, they're shocked that their kids fell for the stranger's story.
I caught a lot of shit from old ladies at the grocery store when I defended my son's refusal to answer well meaning people that wanted to tell him how cute he was. He would look away from them and not respond since he was taught to not talk to strangers
Considering the low probability of encountering a pedophile on any given day, the fact that nearly every "Santa" undergoes a criminal background check and that the "Santa's" in an open location often monitored by surveillance cameras, the probability of a child being molested by a store "Santa" is miniscule.
@Ostopal If you refer back to my original reply you'll see that I wrote "nearly every" not "all". "Nearly every" means the vast majority; "all" is an absolute without exception.
