Many men look like they want to punch the camera person. They look angry, grim and/or miserable. Nobody wants to be around a depressed, angry person.

A genuine smile is inviting, warm and appealing.

If you look happy in your photos, people will see you as a fun person they will enjoy being around.

Jeez. Now I have to go back to my profile and reevaluate my pics. Agnostic insecurity.

Yeah - the bathroom selfie -any kind - no good.
Then there's guys holding up dead fish, or wearing white undershirt tank tops , or nudes with their junk showing, but no face. Oy

Wouldn't say it's a pet peeve, but I would say it's a turn-off when all of or their only photo is of them with a very stern look on their face or with sunglasses covering their eyes. If they can't show a smile somewhere in their profile or they're hiding their eyes and much of their face, there's no way I'm interested in them. Those kind of photos make me think they are way too guarded and defensive. May also be very critical towards others.

Is this really a thing? Because Eeeeeewwwwwwwwwww.........

I'm not a fan of the selfie with disorder in the background. Sure, I do like the candid shots of people doing housework, those can have some chaos in them. But a profile pic shouldn't advertise that you're a slob.
