Facebook reminds me every time I check it out why I moved 2000 miles away. I can't believe I grew up with my family. I have more in common with total strangers.

...I guess an extra thousand miles keeps me missing mine.. But only one’s a facebook friend, and we get along well πŸ™‚

I blocked my mother and never friended my sister. Facebook is much nicer that way.

I can relate to that saying from A Streetcar Called Desire about 'I always rely on the kindness of strangers'. The idea was explored a bit more in Almodovar's film All About My Mother.

Total strangers talk to me more than family.

1,900 miles . . . My family: Religious wackos, racists, and of course, the father who was a child molester and child abuser. The religio-nazis I consider to be no better than the racists, because Christianity is just another form of hate. Look at the base of the belief. . . . And that is that certain people are "saved", and certain people are not, and those who are not will burn in hell. When they dehumanize other people, and picture them as being unworthy, i.e. ("do not throw your pearls before swine" ), "swine"? . . . That is clearly and unambiguously a form of hate. No different than racism if you ask me. As for the child molesting, child beating bastard psychopath, I will celebrate when he is gone, because the world will be a better place with one less major asshole in it.
