Bush supplied two of the ships used by Cuban exiles, for the Bay of Pigs pirate raid on Cuba. He did this at the behest of CIA, whom he had a close association with long before he became its director. He also liked to brag about having started up his Zapata Petroleum Company on what he called "OPM"--i.e. "other peoples' money". Zapata Petroleum became a business 'front' for CIA activities in Latin America. He did indeed have a shady past!
