I love this site. If I never get another point I would remain here.

It’s good that you like the site even without points. But, if it remains as is and points cannot earned, many of us will be unable to access parts of the site that you can, at level 8.

Without points, the site will have to change in some manner. It cannot and should not remain with class levels differentiating between members ... particularly when some levels become unattainable.

I don’t know the thinking or history behind the point system and levels but it’s fairly obvious their purpose is to create a vibrant active community. And, once you buy in to being active (to gain points) the idea of being active is a habit — a habit fed by positive reinforcement from the interaction rather than point attainment.

So, yeah, you don’t need points. Many of us do. My two cynical cents.

@CaroleKay Hi Carole, don't have alot of time at the moment so figured I'd tag you in this post. Since the conservative group was handed down to me I've received multiple hate messages in private from sock puppet accounts that suggested everything from walking off of a cliff to gargling on shards of glass, all due to the group I host. Since I could not determine who exactly was behind the dummy accounts, I resorted to blocking anyone who had detailed in their bios any hint of disdain toward conservative-leaning individuals, which is why I had blocked and banned you from the conservative group based on what you mentioned in your bio and figured you would never want to converse with me in the first place. The conservative group has been a favored target of trolls, and for months in a row almost on a daily basis I dealt with someone joining the group just to stir up trouble, and after awhile it got to be too much. I didn't come to this site to give anyone else a headache, so I figured blocking was the best route to go, but do know that I never had anything personal against you or any other progressive-leaning individual on this site. Truth be told, I'm not a far-right conservative nor am I a Republican, Libertarian best describes my political stance. There are members on here who I would consider friends and quite a few of them are liberal leaning, Shelton being one of them. Again, the last thing I want is to be a problem to anyone on this site, and at times on here can be most unwelcoming to views that do not align with the liberal left, so I stick to visiting posts/groups where I know the convos are a bit more neutral. I'm well aware of GuyKeith's post in the Senate group over me having him blocked and thus he can't see anything I post in that group, and in light of the recent drama in that group I'm considering dropping out, that way I guess neither him or Pralina won't have to worry anymore about seeing my posts as I won't be in the group anymore. With that much said, if you still do hate me or consider me a conservative troll, I understand, the choice to block me again is still yours.

Hi @SpikeTalon First of all, Thanks for unblocking me. You probably should message me as opposed to tagging me, because I feel like I'm kind of on blast, here. But it's OK it's done. I'm glad you explained. You still can message me if you wish.

When I first joined this site I was fresh meat so to speak, with a shorter profile and not as many details. I've since had to edit my profile to deter the Republicans and Conservatives that were hitting on me. Seriously, I had a few that really didn't care what I wanted or how I leaned politically, and it was important to me, so I had to be clear. The Anti Conservative statement in my profile is for dating purposes only, there is room in my life for a very few Conservatives, and I have several Republican and Conservative friends as well. Even though I really don't want to collect them. Sorry, but I do think they are idiots and they know it. I'm looking for a man so I need someone like-minded, that's why I am here. I am also open to making new friends that are not believers.

You got blocked simply because you and your group blocked me. I was never in your group, Never interacted with your group and I never interacted with you. I have a tendency to "double-block" people that block me, it keeps them out of my groups, out of my life, and it cuts down on those pesky notifications when the people that I follow interact with you. I have had several run arounds with some members about groups, blocking and blocking within groups. I am all for blocking if it makes your life better. I have had more arguments with GuyKeith about this than anyone else, and I only didn't block him to spite him. (So you shouldn't worry about him, or anyone else). But here's where I stand. From my point of view, I took issue and have been extremely vocal about the fact that you could literally block thousands of members because perhaps you felt we disagreed with you? or would report your posts? The last time I was able to view Conservative Atheists, it was bordering on a hate group and reported as such. There was a big post about it in Senate. The posts were hateful as well as some of the members. I have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that all this time your group has escaped getting reported because you blocked everyone who disagreed. I have no problem telling you to your face that I thought your acts were extremely chickenshit.

Fast forward to today. I have been here a while now, still single, wtf?! But I'm enjoying the site, making great friends, forming bonds and getting to know people. I want to have a good experience here. I don't want to block people and I don't want to be blocked. I am perfectly capable of liking and existing with people with differences. But have you ever thought that if your group is that problematic doesn't that speak volumes about your group? and your message. Maybe you are on the wrong side of history.?

IDK, You don't know me and I don't know you. I am willing to put this all behind me and start fresh, lol. Just don't be a dick and I won't either. ♥ You had me at Agnostic. Also, just know that as long as I'm blocked from your group(s), you will be blocked from mine.

Edited

@CaroleKay Okay, thanks for the feedback. Wasn't sure if it was okay to message you or not, but I'll message you when I get a chance.

@ItzDavis My guess is that you pick the wrong spot to post your comment. In other words, I don't think you're talking to me, are you?

@ItzDavis yeah I figured.... Just wanted to bring it up to your attention. My job is done. Later dude

I can't believe the almost childish way people go after points... The stupid posts in order to gain points... Like its a game show or something.

Keep your shirt!

@ItzDavis Don't get me wrong... I agree with the different levels being rewarded to do different things. The perks are not the issue. It is the sometimes incessant attention paid toward reaching a certain level... And the crazy posts people put up just to gain points. Some even have posted their strategies of how to best accrue points. I guess some people have nothing better to do in life...

I can

@RiverRick incessant and crazy but necessary to achieve the levels and, like it or not, people are competitive. Put points to earn out there and people will go for them.

The site itself is fine, it's just some of the drama that goes on that has bothered some members on here, is all. I've crossed paths with some interesting people on here (you included), and that much has kept me active on this site.
