Im in a one man band ????. Just me and a guitar. I don't make any money at it, but uh...im pretty decent. I quit smoking a year and a half ago so that I could sing again. I plan to try to start playing in some bars or something like that, but even if I never do , playing guitar is the best darn thing I ever learned to do. Its a huge stress reliever and happiness generator. That last is what's important to me.

I play with a celtic band here in Oregon. Do need to get some updated video. Also play with a new group at a local senior center. Started with 5 of us a month ago. Last week there were 11, and we were talking about a name for the group. Will see if it goes anywhere. If not, that is fine as we are having a great time, and getting a lot of singing and dancing going on.

Sesame Street filmed my US NAVY DRUM&BUGLE CORPS 1972 but I doubt someone kept a videotape remastered from 46 years ago

Yes.
I played and sang with a radio studio band most of my childhood days in Haiti, accompanied whoever else needed it, on electric base, skin drums, or piano, and in the US, I played with one band, and had gigs with others, for money.

For a while in the 1990s, I was a studio musician and back up singer for a popular live TV music show near where I lived in Morehead, KY. I had to be able to start playing keyboard and singing back up for whatever famous singer was being featured, along with the rest of the band, some of whom I had to whisper the correct cord progression to, since they couldn't "hear" it.

Luckily, most popular songs are simple.

This photo is of my siblings and I (I'm holding my hand-raised Hispaniola Amazon parrot) posing for the cover of a record we made in 1968, when I was 15 yrs old, in three languages; Haitian Creole, Spanish, and English.

When I was 17, we recorded a long play 48, in Spanish only, and one of the songs, featuring just my two sisters and I, with the band backing us, became the top hit in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on a popular hit radio station for three months. I had already flown to the US for college by then.

Play in two currently- one rockabilly/psychobilly/punk, the other an 80s/90s cover band.

Here's the former, live at a festival we headlined in Wisconsin.

Ok. I like that a lot . Finally got to listen// Hard to come up with something original nowadays. But you pulled it off... Vocals take some getting used to.. In a get used to Primus/ Cracker kind of way...

Thanks!

We started off doing more horrorpunk stuff, before moving to a mix of rockabilly and punk.

It's hard to book gigs in a small town with only one set of material singing about horror movie stuff.
Here's the rest of that album, we should have an album of the more roots rockabilly stuff soon.

@SaintChris ok yeah that works for me

Oh to be 21 again and just get in the car and drive until we got to your show.

Well, where is home for you? If you've got a bar or two that books live music, send me their contact info. It'd be nice to wreak havoc on someone else's city for a change 😉
