Good Morning one and all,
I,m a bit surprised not to see anything about it being the 76 th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Hadbour . Is this just time difference ? I think the world would be a different place if our allies across the pond didn’t (let’s face it ) , change the cours of the war .

Pearl Harbor gets recognized every year. Not sure what you're expecting.

@Hebert54 More than a mention. There are always ceremonies held throughout the country to mark the anniversary. There is always a ceremony held in Hawaii to mark the day.
What exactly are you expecting?

@Hebert54 Yes, I think it is. Pearl Harbor happened in Hawaii, which wasn't even a state at the time. It marked the entrance of the US into WWII, and it was basically orchestrated.
Granted, it's likely Britain wouldn't have lasted much longer against Germany without US involvement, but in all honesty, it was the Russians who defeated the Germans on the Western front, and when they began to turn their attention toward the East, Japan knew it was time to surrender. It didn't have as much to do with Truman dropping atomic bombs on Japan, as it did with Russia entering the Pacific part of the War.
To expect it to be recognized in the UK seems a little excessive. However, if it's bothering you that much, call the BBC and tell them as much.

I agree. My FB feed is filled with nothing but Trump, Trump, Trump. I'm sick of it.

Are you looking for it on tv? I know that many internet news outlets have pictures and articles starting very early at least in the USA...

@Hebert54 Yes...it seems such historical events should take the stage instead of all the sensationalized news that have a short life span... so sad... 😟

My dad turned 9 on the day of the attack. I was born years later the day after. My mom went into labor with me the evening of the 7th. I take a personal day every year on the 7th or 8th and I refer to it as the day of national mourning. Everyone thinks I do it to remember pearl harbor, but it's actually because of me being born.

YOU could be the one to post on Pearl Harbor???

Yea...it's still a bit early here in the USA. But thank you for your post, and remembering that day.

EDIT - I just checked BBC, AlJazeera, Rueters, and Veterans Today websites - not one story about it. Guess 77th anniversary of one of top events to shape the US isn't worth writing a paragraph about. 😟

Because we are all under a new attack.... From the current administration!

I think its the time difference, as I write this isn’t yet 7AM. So, the East Coast hasn’t started rocking and rolling yet. But I expect there will be news stories.
