Property has been level for this year and my wife's 401K took a slight downward turn. With the action by the Fed, I think even our property may start to fall through the coming year and onward if nothing happens to fix it.

I lost and gained a bit over my lifetime and learned to let things ride. I'm confident it will be back.,just maybe not in my lifetime. My heirs will be ok. I am doing well, that is expendible money.

I only own land right now so I think I'm up. I got a hot tip: they're not making any more of it. Also: don't bet on the horses.

I think I'll hold off investing until after Trump crashes the economy.

I lost my modest amount in the '08 mess and it never came back. I just stayed out of the market as I was unable to find anyone I trusted to help with my planning.
I would enjoy finding someone to help with investing but I have not been impressed with the local options for planners.

Keep in mind that the value at any point in time is what you are seeing...not a reflection necessarily your earnings income...

I learned a loooong time ago what goes up will come down. Twice in a decade my/our IRA fell to a certain level, then rose and fell again. We pretty much ended up where we started. Even though I/we were with a reputable, non-profit co, (TIAA) and had what is known as social choice a lot of money went toward things I did not want. Gradually we removed all of our investments save for one small guaranteed plan which gives me 3% no matter what the market does.

Don't get me started! I am down over $100k since September! It will come back though...

Well, the market is down, and may be volatile as long as Trump is president. My best advice is just to leave it all for the long haul. It will go back up eventually.
