I just wondering how many dog lovers or cat lovers have multiple pets of the same kind. I know a person who has 7 snakes yuk!
Two cats, including this one that likes to hang on the arm of my chair.

Two dogs, on purpose: the old one is helping raise and train the young one. Also they keep each other company--for the rare occasions when they are left alone for a couple hours.
The young one is worth at least two dogs, in terms of energy and work needed. I couldn't handle more.
On my 3rd doberman. 2 at once atm.
Altho that's nothing. I know people who have waaaay more dogs of the same breed.
At some point though unless you're independently wealthy, a veterinarian, tech with discounts, or know enough to cut down on your vet expenses I question the husbandry of some over a certain amount.
One woman I know(different breed) always has someone with otitis and it can never be cleared up because her yard is tainted full of dog crap. sigh
In my breed there are baseline expenses in order to do right that are prohibitive to the average owner: dna testing, echoes, holter monitor readings. It never ends. After 2 I broke down & bought a holter instead of the rigormarole of renting one, mailing, returning, blah blah.
More than you wanted to know I'm sure.
Then they drift into animal hoarding I.E the crazy lady with 25 cats,or more.....
and then there are those that inflict their hoarding on the environment with TNR. Then they get to wear the "I'm a saint" hat in their batshit crazy community of fellow TNR hoarders. eyeroll .
I have always had at least two dogs and as many as five at one time. I am currently limited to two but would have more otherwise. Those with multiple pets does your vet have programs like a monthly fee or some type of discount.
