It's great when the boss is full of Christmas spirit and in a good mood.

In lieu of store-bought gifts we were given the entire time between last Friday and January 2nd off - with pay! ?

Now, what to do with all this time on my hands.....

Great because.......The United States is the only developed country in the world without a single legally required paid vacation day or holiday.

I am glad for you. I currently have about the same thing but have it without pay.

Sounds like the kind of boss that appreciates the quality of employees he has, and knows how to treat, and treat, them.

Sleep in, eat the cake, take a walk.
Be lazy, if you want.
Be productive, if you want.
Go visit people you like/love.
Enjoy the time off, and make the most of it--in your own way.

Having an employer treat his employees like the people they are,is a reflection of his good year,no doubt, but having a bad year(as some do) can be having a "Black Cloud",hover in the workplace,no happiness, good spirits, or cheer, the "Salt Mines" attitude.

Wow...an employer that actually values life-work balance...it's a Festivus Miracle!!!

I had that happen at a place I worked at. Problem was, I was a contractor.

Hard to get work done???

@HankSherman No, it meant no pay for me.

@godef as often happens to contract employees, guessing he is your only client???

@HankSherman No, I'm in IT, contracting on development projects. You only do one job at a time in such a role.

@godef well.....try to enjoy days off. good luck..maybe at least have time to let your brain rest..lol ( I guess)
