My mother was a horrible home maker (but she a a great cook). Our house was always a mess. One day we were visiting home for the holidays and while watching TV a big cockroach come down the wall and just stopped. My wife got scared and my mother said, oh that's just George. He always comes to watch TV with us.
My first wife and I were living in SW Oklahoma and came to Dallas for our honeymoon. The first night we slept in my parents bedroom. In the middle of the night my wife woke up screaming. Roaches were walking across the open beams above and a few would fall onto the bed on her. Some honeymoon.

That’s not normal.....

@SkotlandSkye It was in our house which, BTW, was an older but nice Spanish style house in an older but ritzy area of Dallas. It was built in the 1920's by a concert pianist

@JackPedigo but roaches!!!! I’ve been a chef for 30+ years!! There is no excuse for having roaches in any kitchen (or house) anywhere!

@SkotlandSkye Tell that to my mother. Unfortunately, she died in 1997 at 67. She didn't take care of herself. We had a great childhood and science is now showing people that grew up with lots of germs built up a healthy immunity. Maybe roaches can be good for you???
My son-in-law is a chef (cook). Do you have a specialty?

@JackPedigo yes. Vegan and health food πŸ™‚

@SkotlandSkye In Oklahoma!

@JackPedigo no, I do nationwide consulting, corporate wellness programs, and edit cookbooks. I stay busy. You might try reading my Bio on here. Lol

@SkotlandSkye I just encountered a mention of Nutritional Psychology. I was going to do a post as it sounds interesting. Ever hear of it (probably, duh)?

Good news about the death of humanity in the coming century: most roaches won't survive, as they have linked themselves so close to our lives and habitats.

Exactly. Like any other animal, once the food runs out they'll starve
