So - I did something somewhat out of character for me today, to help counter my tendency to hide away from humans - especially at this time of year.
Last week I picked this day , and the hours between 2-5, to have an open house. I invited a bunch of my favorite humans thru facebook - knowing that not all would be free , and waited to see what would happen.
Turns out I liked it better than having a regular party gathering. Instead of having a whole houseful at once, different folks came, stayed a while, and moved on. I had holiday treats for everyone, and got to chat with people as they arrived, and mingled. So the mix constantly changed. I rather enjoyed it, and am thinking of doing this more often (of course allowing for "recovery" time in between!). Who knew !?
Have you done anything lately to break out of your usual modus operandi ?
I tend to be more secluded as time goes on. This year I have run fewer movies then earlier times. I find most in these parts (theists/tRump supporters) not worthy of my time.
Not lately but I hope attend a open house soon. ?
I'm becoming even less approachable.
Believe me, I understand !
I did something like this a few years ago; created a FB "event" for my high school class(1971). Shocked at the turn-out and other classmates have been creating more class events, couple each year since.
