Not sure if it's just me.
But I've been having a terrible time with memory lately.
I'm 54, I still look, act and feel like I'm in my 30's. everything except my mind.
Yes I still have a great understanding of all of the maths, and Science, Programing, and hardware enginering, and knowledge in general.

The problem is that I seem to have a very diminished short time memory.
Now it could be my mental disorder (schizoaffective), or the meds that I take for that.

But I am constantly getting up to do something, and then stand there dumbfounded at what I am, or was intending to do.

Yes I know first world problems, but it is frustrating none the less.
Sometimes I'll just snap into where I am, or what I was doing, and just get scared thinking, wtf, how did I get here, or what am I doing.
Any one else do this as well.?

I often think the same thing.....I came here to get what? Or within a second i forget what i was just talking about. Everyone i talk to says the same thing happens to them so I don't worry about it.

Get checked out in case it IS something that early intervention could help. Also review all of your meds with a professional. You are correct that many medicines, alone or in certain combination, can have cognitive side effects. My father got very forgetful and confused every time he took statin drugs (to reduce plaque buildup in the arteries). I've had certain migraine meds interfere with my recall.

I understand the worry. "What ifs" can get huge and scary. Often the reality and doing something about it can be both liberating and empowering.

Slow down & be more in the moment! It is easy to overwhelm yourself with all the "shoulds" that fill our lives. Also, start taking B Complex vitamins.

You should go and see your GP to test for Alzheimer's.
