Got a glimpse of a post in Conservative Atheists, which said, "This site is a joke [acslaw.org] Since when do progressives care about the US Constitution...." I cannot see the remaining parts of the post.

acslaw.org is a site called the American Constitution Society.

As a 74 year old American, I've seen many things occur in politics. I've been on both sides of the conservative-progressive argument. At one time, I thought Ayn Rand was right. However, I've seen the consequences of unbridled capitalism, and it is IMO anti-American. Thus, I switched to be a progressive. I still deeply believe in the Constitution, and see that it embraces people of all walks of life, both on the right and left.

In my life, the right and left have never been so polarized, and that IMO is dangerous.

I sure agree with you.

Thanks.

I really worry about what goes on in there? They have one hell of a Black List going on that most of us don't know how we even got on it.

Like you I only ever see snippets.

I'm of the belief that one day we are all going to have to work together again. I wish people were practicing now.

Sure hope we can work together again, but not only if there is compromise by both sides. Caving in to the conservatives will end up killing too many people. They are trying to destroy all social services and much of the government to eliminate regulations and give trillions to the rich. That is unacceptable. We all pay for social security, redistributing it to the rich fucked.

@EdEarl Oh nope caving in is NOT working together!

I like trying to get folks to change or see things from another angle but I won't be walked on either.

How right you are. Whenever a society polarises, it implodes. Ancient Greece, Rome, the Catholic church are all examples of it. Putin knows this, and is exploiting it heavily on social media. People have been warned of this, yet the fools continue to devour Russian media engineering.

There is so much propaganda that it is difficult to learn the truth. I don't trust corporate media, and don't listen to any media that reports on Russia regularly. For some reason, Russia seems to be perpetually ruled by Staling-Putin types, probably because their media is controlled by the government.

I totally agree with you. I have been on both sides but believe the Dems have thepeople best interests at heart verses money which the rich will never be able to spend.

Some Dems have the people's welfare in mind, but too many are voting with the GOP. Regardless, they are better than the GOP IMO.

@EdEarl The best of what we have to choose from.

@Marine Yes

@MissKathleen I will still take our government over many in Europe or elsewhere. It is far from perfect but no one has come up wityth a better one to date.
