Excellent point,otherwise we relinquish
the ability to maintain our equilibrium. We
could be chasing ghosts or enabling bad behavior
also.I will seek forgiveness to re-enforce a lesson
& remain humble. Difficult individuals are some
times not worth the effort/further,deeper involvement.

I am slowly realizing this. DIL, in my family has been a problem for the entire 21 years she's been married to my son. After my husband past away this past June, DIL decided to be a cruel horses ass 3 weeks after his passing. I was talking to my grief counselor and she instructed me to write out my feelings and forgive her and that would help in my healing process toward her.
Here is what I wrote: ___You lying bitch. I forgive you for lying to my family and friends about me and I send you on your path of healing. I forgive myself for allowing your sickness to mess up my mind. I now will move forward and continue my healing.

My counselor told me it was ok to express myself with my true feelings and I did. It has had an amazing effect on my stress level, it's down, and I am actually sleeping better as well. I get it now, I don't have to have anything to do with her, I don't need to hold a grudge, I simply needed to forgive her in my way and move forward to peace of mind.

...I can appreciate the successes you
have expressed,as I have experienced issues
with family,though not exclusively.
