So, this morning I called both my (republican) State Senators' offices. The line for David Perdue's office was perpetually busy. I was, however, able to leave a message for him on his facebook page.
As for Johnny Isakson's office, there was no way to leave a message, whether it was by phone or on facebook. I've tried contacting Isakson's office before.
I find it endlessly fascinating that his constituents cannot reach any staffers in his offices.
I really hope the voters of Georgia are aware of the lack of contact he has with the people he's supposed to be working for. He's up for re-election next year.

I also find it interesting as all hell that quite a few conservative republican elected representatives are making themselves deliberately unavailable to their constituents, or anyone else.
It's not just Isakson.

I actually got a response from a prior email today from our senior senator about the government shutdown.

From Senator Lamar Alexander - "I want to make sure Tennesseans know, as I have said from its beginning, that I believe there is no excuse whatsoever for this partial government shutdown. I was elected to make the government work for taxpayers, not to shut it down. This shutdown wastes taxpayer dollars, adds uncertainty to the economy and hurts small businesses around our national parks. A government shutdown should be as off limits in budget negotiations as chemical weapons are in warfare. This shutdown is a failure by negotiators, both Democrat and Republican, and will produce a success for no one."

Wow. I'm shocked. I wonder if he'll actually vote that way, if and when the time comes?

@KKGator I imagine he will. He is an old school republican, was governor of Tn 30 something years ago, so entrenched into the party and politics, so not like he is worried about losing votes or his job by going against Trump, esp on a topic where Trump is not popular, and can be seen as a reasonable bipartisan level headed politician toward the 'evil' democrats (win - win kind of thing). I think he falls more into the republican camp that publicly tolerates Trump when it's convenient, with the occasional grand standing against him to look like a strong independent minded leader for the people...blah bla bla bla blah. If you can't tell, I have little use for ANY politician - they are playing in a rigged game of corporate influence for ultimately their own personal gain. I have seen very little to make me think most people's altruism isn't just showmanship and emotional manipulation to make it easier to deceive.

You can email your elected representatives through Facebook messenger using resistbot.

Thank you.

ANd then the fuckers wonder why they get accosted when they go out to dinner. Maybe if they answered their phones or employed enough clerks to take calls from constituents they could eat out in peace.

I call my reps all the time - mine are all Democrats right now.

I think you need to get together with like minded people and pay them a visit instead.

They would consider that an "ambush", and we'd all be arrested.

@KKGator well something needs to be done. Just whining about it and not doing anything is not very constructive. If there were enough of you nobody would be arrested

"Just whining about it and not doing anything is not very constructive."

Well, thanks for that.

@KKGator Sorry, do forgive me but you know what I mean I hope.

I occasionally get emails telling me about my district rep visiting some location or other after the event, but never ahead of time. I'm in a Skeptics group and am pretty sure I could spark some interest in attending one of these events if I could ever get a notice of one in time.

They’re probably tired of listening to all the liberal crap so they just quit answering.

You really are quite tiresome.
You live in your little echo-chamber.
Your irrational hate has made you really, REALLY stupid.

Yeah, funny how reality has that persistent liberal bias.

You can always be counted on to be an ignoramus.

@KKGator All of my reps are now Dem.
When trump was on a tear about the caravan and sent troops to our southern border, I Senator Murray and told her clerk how up set I was over the treatment of these poor tired asylum seekers and that a real president would have sent enough clerks and people to help process and enforce our existing laws. trump sends troops and slows the whole process to an almost grinding halt in an act of supreme cruelty. Some days later I read a quote from Murray in the newpaper about what a real president would have done facing a large group of asylum seekers - yeah, reworded but it was my point, warmed my jaded heart.

I have a cousin who lives in Georgia, he is a blue dot in a sea of red but continues to work to at least get to purple.

Good luck to him. We need all the support we can get.
I'd be fine with purple. Especially since I don't identify as
either blue or red.

They're trying to avoid cognitive dissonance.

Kind of funny how they don’t want to talk to the people they’ve screwing over. Montana’s Republican Senator and Congressman will only do “town hall” meetings by phone and then, only with preselected questions.
