And let's not forget she did publicly call Trump a bitch.

Exactly! I might not be a fan of Tucker Carlson myself but it's still something very few Dems can do...Rally those who are soo deeply entrenched on the right while sill maintaining their policies as a Dem...Not to mention her "unorthodox" views are exactly what sets her apart from other hopefuls and gives her the reach she could use to sway traditionally Republican states.

She doesn't have a chance. We need to be united behind whoever emerges as the strongest candidate.

Well pardon me I don't vote straight along party lines.

Not to mention she's probably your best just at getting votes outside of the Democrat party.

@josh23452 No clue what you're trying to say. But she doesn't have a chance.

@DeStijl well for one thing I never vote simply along party lines..i don't give a diddly about the Democrat party.

And I disagree...If the democrats wana take the oval office in 2020 they need a candidate who can reach across the Democratic party for a voter base...If you think the Democrat party has enough support on its own then all I can say is good luck.

Tulsi in my opinion has the ability to grab people not just within the Democratic party....Not to toot my own horn but I'm a good example of this...Im not a Democrat or Republican but I would vote Democrat if she is on the ticket...Now that's not to say I won't vote Democrat otherwise but I'm not gona do it sheer out of party loyalty.

Now the Democrat party has two choices..Pick someone more popular within their own house or pick someone who has that ability to reach outside of party lines..And I can tell ya picking Biden,Harris,O'Rorke or heaven forbid Clinton.

Now sure they could go for Bernie and he might have a good shot(Nevermind Bernie and Tulsi work together alot) However Tulsi's military service would in my opinion have a greater chance at grabbing the Veteran crown(like myself) at the very least it would be hard for a draft dodging oompa loompa to convince people he is better suited to handle the military more than a former Army Captain who is still serving I believe as a Major in the National Guard.

@josh23452 tl;dr Time will prove me correct.

@DeStijl well while you enjoy the prospect of being correct I would suggest thinking...Really thinking if any of the other Dem hopefulls have the ability to get votes outside the Democratic party and if the Dems have enough support within it's own party to secure the next election.

@josh23452 No clue why you keep bringing up "votes outside the Democratic party." There's an interesting conversation on Reddit. [reddit.com]

@DeStijl simple..Not everyone is a Democrat or a Republican...There's a large voting base that doesn't vote strictly a long party lines...While you have some who will vote Blue no matter who or the same for the red...Not all who voted Republican are strictly Republican..I myself have voted Democrat,Republican and 3rd party..One of the mistakes during the 2016 election was Hillary didn't have that ability to reach outside the Democrat party. And a lot of the possible Dem presidential candidates are in the same position.

@josh23452 Accept reality. She has low name recognition, she's Hindu, she's under 40, she's made anti-gay remarks, she's Samoan, and David Duke supports her. She might be able to use this as a way to get exposure and boost her brand but that's the most she'd get out of this.

@DeStijl and how many Democrats with higher recognition can say the same things..Do you know how many Dems have voted against things like gay marriage or for the Iraq war?

Not to mention she has distanced herself From David Duke and rejected his endorsement on more than one occasion..

Now don't get me wrong if she doesn't become the Dem pick in 2020 I will still give whoever it is a fair listen to..However i will do the same for the Republican candidate..Till then myself and plenty of others are quite excited about this and unless the higher named Dem candidates genuinely have the ability to garner votes outside of the Democrat party I would suggest you give Tulsi he fair listen to and maybe spend some time looking up her voting record while she's been in office..

Because you can rest assured if the Dem candidate is someone who can only get votes from other Democrats...Well that's another four years of either Trump or someone just as bad if not worse.

Not to mention it's silly to consider something bad just because someone bad endorses it....Hitler was a vegetarian after all.

@DeStijl Tulsi's response to Duke

Silver kills werewolves. I wish I knew what killed f*ing orange clowns.

Well from what I remember...Silver is affective against a number of monsters.

Silver bullet? How about a high velocity golf ball? FOUR!

Bernie Sanders is THE ONLY progressive with a DECADES long, PROVEN track record for fighting for the middle class and disenfranchised. He ran his entire campaign without corporate monies. If he runs, he’ll get my vote.

Bernie is great..Dont get me wrong my only disngruntlement with him is his lack of service...I don't think a person should control the most advanced military on the planet without having first hand experiance with it.. Though it's interesting to note Tulsi has worked with Bernie quite often.

@josh23452 I respect your opinion. But, there have been other good presidents without or little military service. For example, Abraham Lincoln. He served for a total of three months and never saw action.

[nyti.ms]

@Jay1313132018 and I also acknowledge service doesn't automatically make you a better president for sure...That being said I'll also concede that the military budget is overblown for sure and should be reduced and it seems that someone who has been in but isn't so cock hard for the military would be the right mind to bring it down to reasonable level but still have the cred so when the right wing douchebags raise a fit she can say "Hey I've actually been there so I think I know what's up.."

Now that's not to say I don't like Bernie...I was disappointed he didn't win the primary for sure.

I think the lack of Republican criticism of Bernie is a pretty good indicator that they'd love to see him nominated so they could then unleash a nuclear blast of damaging claims.
For me, I'll say what I said before: Democrats need to regain control of the center if they are to have any hope of moving our country to the left.

@jerry99 I don't disagree. And, they're going to do the same to any candidate that gets nominated.

Even the Dems are weighing in. I've already noticed MSNBC lobbing bombs at Bernie to influence nomination.

NOOO!!!! Quoting a friend, echoed by many folks here in Hawaii, with whom I agree wholeheartedly:

“I will never vote for Tulsi Gabbard for President. I knew that chameleon would jump into the 2020 race. Listen mainland friends, she has you all fooled. She is not the darling she makes herself out to be before the media. She has a long shady past and we in Hawaii know the truth about her. The only reason she got this far was because when she ran in the primary for congress, the other Democrat running was a political opponent of the Governor at the time and the establishment put their weight behind Tulsi solely to defeat Mufi Hannemann. Tulsi is a former Republican, radically anti-Gay, and comes from the most known political anti-gay family in Hawaii. Her father was the leader of the anti-gay movement in Hawaii. As soon as she decided to run for Congress as a Democrat in 2012, she had her epiphany, evolved, and suddenly became a progressive and claimed to be pro-LGBT. She is a FRAUD . Don't trust her. Remember, she is the same woman who went to Syria and met with Assad!”

yes she met with Assad to try and settle thing without violence...As. drunken dwarf once said...We make peace with out enemies...And I would say prive the staements your friend has made.

I’ve really liked what I’ve seen about her the last couple years. But I’m also going to seriously consider what you said. Can’t ignore local knowledge.

@Unimatrix907 local knowledge is nice but I would like video of Tulsi claiming she was anti-gay before I listen to claims....

In theory the press and others will do the vetting so we’ll learn more in the next few months. I trust no one, even the politicians I like. As an Alaskan we could have given the country Sarah Palin and most of had no idea how way out there she was until she got on the national stage. I hope Tulsi is everything I hope she seems to be but if it turns out I was wrong about her I’ll accept it and support somebody else.

So, you are saying no one can ever break free of what their family believes?

@AnneWimsey Makes it difficult to believe when she surrounds herself with unqualified people hired seemingly only because of the ties to the cult she grew up with, and will not answer questions regarding that oddity.

Just raising a red flag that religious bigotry is a two way street - she aligns herself often with a right wing agenda, pro some religions, anti others, yet presents herself as opposed to religious bigotry.

She may have softened her hard core radical right beliefs to be more popular on screen, but her voting record tells a different story.

There are many other presidential hopefuls who have their constituents at heart, over a personal need for attention and power.

As someone earlier said, the press will likely be able to present facts (troubling or not) so folks can have a clearer picture of who she really is. I have to trust that, as she would be yet another mistake to have in the white house. I could be all in for anyone but Tulsi. So many better choices throwing their hat into the ring. Would be a shame for folks to be fooled by Tulsi.

I wish the web site was linked to more information.

She's pretty easy to find..

Just to start you off friend..Ya remember the standing rock protest? She organized a group of fellow vets to stand in front of the natives so the cops couldn't beat em.

@josh23452 Pretty easy photo op to reach folks easily taken in by an easy thing for her to do, without really doing anything. Just a photo op that makes her seem like a feeling person, which she isn't.

@Julie808 and why not?

@josh23452 She cares about herself, that's all. She will do and say whatever she thinks will get her positive coverage, but look at her voting record. I'm not going to waste my time doing research to present. I've seen it unfold over the years. Hopefully it will all make it to the national stage in time to calm those infatuated with Tulsi. I don't get into too many political conversations, but when a rat smells so pungent, I gotta say something.

@Julie808 so, the smearsbegin....does anyone feel dejavu? A person's family is indicative of what they are? Methinks this might be a TV ough premise to push on this site!!!

@Julie808 I mean evidence is kind of important otherwise you're just talking out your ass.
