A lucid explanation of the IS problem.

Here's the full BBC article, as the video 'stand alone' seems to have been withdrawn.
I was able to see the last link. The US has used the Kurds then abandoned the Kurds over and over again. I feel Trump is pulling out of Syria to please Putin. His strong statements to Turkey are not like his wall pronouncements. The wall talk energizes his base. Protecting the Kurds is meaningless to most of his supporters. That means he will not follow through. I am so weary of America inserting their will onto the rest of the world. I hope the Kurds have a Homeland someday but America is not a reliable partner in the Middle East.
Our dalliances abroad will keep coming back to bite us and our collective ignorance will continue to inoculate us from the realization thereof. The cycle will continue until we stumble into our own unmaking.
Sad, but true.
For once I agree with Trump...the Kurds need to be supported, they have been our allies in the fight against ISIS. Turkey has been waging a war against the Kurds for decades because they want to have an independent State of their own. Turkey under Erdogan has become more authoritarian and he is now a virtual dictator, the country has taken backward steps and its government is now more Islamic in nature than it has been since the founding of the republic by Attaturk, who made it secular. I am able to read this article directly from the BBC as I’m in the UK.
