Big vote re: Brexit tonight. I have no idea how we got here but I do know where we are going. Yesterday I met an Italian nurse, he had two children here and his wife and they were all going back to Italy. He isn't the only one. Last year nearly 10k EU nurses left. That is just healthcare. I just don't understand human beings, why do we continue to vote against our best interests, why do we elect dishonest people?, why did anyone think that borders between countries are even real? Its a scary nonsensical time. I am thinking of getting on a spaceship and starting again. Anyone want to join me?

Was listening to this all night on ‘BBC America’ radio… I love the honest breakdown and lack of ‘divisional reporting’ we’re accustomed to in the US. I’ve a British buddy over here who’s only reason not to declare the USA a brain-dead zone is his former nation’s vote on Brexit.. Extremely well educated and well off financially, he’d not likely have felt under housing, resource, or employment pressure back in England.

So complex.. My take is the anger and fear of those feeling invaded by more populated, lesser developed countries caused them to ..cut it off. With the open-borders requirements of EU membership, nations having planned well and worked hard to establish a balanced economy, environment and social services feel they’ve been overwhelmed by those taking this opportunity to ‘join them.’

The US has experienced a taste of that ..with various work visas allowing outside nationals to fill ‘in nation’ jobs. And with desperate migrants always looking to move up from ‘Latin America,’ it’s pressure from both ends. But unlike the EU agreements, ‘we’ don’t owe anyone the opportunity of citizenship ...other than our obscure ‘14th amendment’ allowing instant citizenship for any child born within our borders.

Seems to me the only way humanity will ever get along is when we’re all living at the same level of acquisition & consumption … which appears impossible 😕

The problem with the Brexit vote is the same as the Trump vote here. Our side didn't show up as they believed the polls.

I watched a docu-drama about it. (With Benedict Cumberbach). The vote was massively manipulated, basically people were told LIES and they believed them all. We need another referendum.

@Amisja There must be a way out. If May's government falls, who will implement this tragic mistake? We have 2 more years of this madman.

@Countrywoman We have less than 2 months. It's bonkers. I have said it before, its been likened to trying to separate the ingredients of a sponge cake. We have been members of the EU (more or less) for 40 years, that is almost a lifetime. This is a pointless endeavour and just because people don't like brown people! I despair

@Amisja People fear change instead of adapting to it. We have a brown people issue here with our lunatic in charge as I am sure you know. Obsessed with Mexico our 2nd largest trading partner, as Russia comes in thru the internet to influence voters to remain home. This is the result. Hang in there.

@Countrywoman You too...On the townhall of a local town near me they had a sign after Brexit saying, 'This too will pass!'

@Amisja I hope there is a second referendum, but requiring a 2/3 majority.

@bingst Me too

Incidentally, I did have cat called K'Ehleyr many years ago 🙂

@ipdg77 So cool...we are totally doing this spaceship thing 😉

@Amisja Just tell me where the transporter pad is and I'm there 🙂

@ipdg77 Hahaha should we kinda think of a destination or are we just cool just to head out and hope for the best? 😉

@Amisja Space is a big place to be aimless in, how about heading for Proxima B for starters, just get out space legs on and then........who knows 🙂

@ipdg77 Sounds good to me. I got 6 cans of beans coz they are on a special at Tescos and I'll get us some toilet rolls and babywipes...can't think of anything else eh?

@Amisja Better bring some corn flakes and some loose change for parking 🙂

@ipdg77 good thinking 😉

People here vote against their own interests too. It is puzzling. So much for evolution. Maybe we have peaked.

I have a way to go 😉 (notsa sure about the rest of you!)
