Does it count as a criticism to note that you're breaching etiquette by replying to your own post in order to jack up your points?

He is at level 8 and I don't think he really cares about points at that level..I know I don't...I look at it as just the ball rolling...I like his posts...

@maturin1919 Internet etiquette in general. It's poor form to self-reply in order to boost your "trending" status.

In this case, a habit of making first comment appears (to me) to be completely consistent with the profile of a person who is about posting thought-provoking topics, frequently in the form of a question, and fairly and sensibly starting the conversation by offering his oen views. That one receives double points for first comment seems a simple--and, to me, forgivable--coincidence. I see no other behavior from this user to suggest shameless point-grubbing. Quite the opposite, actually.

@Paul4747 I reply a lot to my own posts because I usually forget to add some things? Does it count if you asSUme why you know someone is doing something?

@stinkeye_a I agree...I looks at patterns of behavior as well...and it seems ridiculous to me that a thoughtful question and post would be overly criticized as points grubbing when the actual subject at hand is a more worthy topic of discussion... lol...

@AmmaRE007 one CAN edit one's own post... not unlimitedly, but within time limits set by one's levels. one doesn't have to respond immediately to one's own posts by way of editing.
