Mueller vs Buzzfeed.

Buzzfeed stands firmly by their reporting which Mueller spokesman labeled as “inaccurate.”

  1. What portion is inaccurate?
  2. Why did the Mueller investigation feel the need to make a statement?

Speculation: Mueller knows much more than the public does. Buzzfeed has been in “hot water” before yet proven to be correct over time.

Is this reporting possibly too close to the truth and was a giveaway for the direction the investigation has taken?

I think the Mueller Investigation is moving at a specific pace. They want to control the pace and make their indictments in a certain order according to a time table they're trying to adhere to. I think any leaks, and there have been few, are calculated. I think they want to work it so Trump can't wiggle out of anything. I'm hoping Mueller has a lot more than is evident.

@Marcel3405 Not sure that one was calculated because they don't usually comment on stories like that. Perhaps what was said in the article was true, they just didn't want Trump to start defending that just yet. Also, Trump has his people in place to thwart the investigation. If they know something, they can block something.

It's will be ironic if Mueller is found to be protecting #FAKEPOTUS45. Or he may just be pissec that it was leaked.

I wish the Mueller spokesperson would have said "not entirely accurate" but still saying "not accurate" is not the same as saying "totallly false" so it is puzzling!

It appears simply the Buzz Feed simoply misstated some of the factrs -- not the story. I think that is all.

The phrasing of the statement from Mueller's office is extremely odd, so there are multiple ways one could take this. One guess I have right now is the insinuation the two of Mueller's agents leaked this to Buzzfeed. This statement may simply be a repudiation of anyone on Mueller's team as the sources for the story. Or perhaps the "evidence" simply isn't a clear cut case of Trump directly telling Cohen to do anything--perhaps a judgment call is required, and Mueller wasn't comfortable with the media propelling the characterization of the evidence toward impeachment rather than congress/the public when the results are finally revealed in proper context.

I'm trying SO damned hard to be patient.
I want the Mueller investigation to be as complete as humanly possible.
I know these things take a long time to achieve, especially if they're going
to be airtight.
I just want ALL of them to be crucified. Most especially 45 and Pence.

Maybe. We won't know if Rosenstein thought they were jeopardizing the investigation. Time will tell. More indictments likely vs Roger Stone and his friend.
