Hey you secular RV'ers... post me some cons of RVing. I know a lot of the pros but I'm thinking about giving this a go now that I'm retired and I just sold my house. I think forewarned is forearmed.
Tell me what the down side is, pitfalls to avoid and so forth.
Have a friend at work that he and his wife are in love with the lifestyle. Is there any money to be saved by RV'ing vs. hotels, from my investigating no. But the pro's for me are; your own clean bed that only you have slept in. You eat what you prepare. Less is more...no more filling the attic and garage with junk you don't "need". The negatives; If a person has little common sense...RV'ing is not for you. If you are not a person that is "attention" detailed (trailer inspection, vehicle inspection etc.), this lifestyle will break the bank. You need to be pro-active not reactive. If you don't have street smarts...you can invite or expose yourself to trouble. Buying the wrong truck / trailer combination will hurt if you by a pull behind. Buying a used trailer as been pointed out by another submitted comment is the way to go, but having someone that is anal retentive inspect the trailer for you before you commit is the only way to avoid a lemon.
For "me" yes they are more money and have their negatives, but I prefer a Airstream. They hold their value. [airstreamclassifieds.com]

YouTube is a great source for information on full time RV and Nomadic life. This might be a good place to start.
