Sorry that I have wasted anybody's time, my question is totally irrelevant now. AOC have said the world will end in 12 years if we don't do something now. Now was few days ago, I don't think we did anything therefore we are doomed. We will never really now how she would've conducted herself in the future.

She will be head of the USSA ruling bureau, and with no income live in luxury at government expense. You know, like Brezhnev, Castro, etc. As Orwell wrote in Animal Farm, all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.

Good examples (the Russian and the Cuban) and reference (The Animals). Interesting thoughts

Wealth redistribution is well under way. It's just going towards people who already have more than they can count, let alone need. Tax policies of the past were meant to keep the economy from imploding due to inequality, rather than unnecessarily grab the money of the oppressed wealthy.

Totally totally agree.

When do I get wealth and how much will I get? Should I quit my job now or wait a bit longer?

@IamNobody All about you. About what I expected.

@alliwant oh it's not about me and you know it. You're saying wealth will be distributed and I am asking when. Still waiting for an answer.

@IamNobody I'm done with you. You're no more than an annoyance.

it will be interesting to see!

I think it will be. Will things go towards specific way? Absolutely no way to know until due time but we can think of possibilities.

@IamNobody there is a part of me that hopes she stays true to her fire brand ways. Then there is the pessimist... oh well! interesting thought experiment.

@Donna_I I like to consider all possibilities. I am not even suggesting that I know what she is going to do. If she stay true to herself then great.

I understand that a lot of her policies on taxation are going back to the days in the past before the age of right wing economic rationalism, and the US did very nicely and didn't have the extremes of inequality that right wing economics produced, so consider that.

Ok, I am asking for all different angles. Thanks

Fail.

Or .. she actually understands that capitalism has gotten out of control, and understands the fact that the gap between the haves and have nots continues to increase exponentially. And she sees that the rest of the industrialized world has Universal Healthcare, and we don't because we have legalized bribery and healthcare industry lobbyists who have bought our corporate whore politicians. Oh, and that it is possible to make decisions based on the common good, and not just one's self interest.

Hear, Hear and Amen brother.

Time will tell then

@IamNobody Bernie never gave in. After all the years he remains one of the poorest Senators. Yes he is not poor, but not a millionaire like most of them…...

@Rudy1962 I have already commented on Bernie.

Touche! The common good is what's under attack by plutocratic policy.

Irrelevant

Fair enough but, why?

@IamNobody because nothing comes of this conversation, it’s pointless and there’s no way to know or determine.

@darthfaja True and that's how you see it. I understand that. I still believe there might be some value trying to anticipate possibilities.

If the premise of the question is that if she (or we) were rich, would we really, really want to pay more taxes? I was in the top 3.5% last year. I made more money last year than anyone in my immediate or extended family has ever made in one year. And I'd be happy to pay more. But before you say nothing is stopping me, I will beat you to the punch and tell you I'm already donating the difference to political causes that will cut your taxes while raising my own. You are welcome.

Thanks

Nope, that is not the premise. The premise is that she WILL be rich and I just wonder how is she going to think then. That's the thought experiment. I don't really care what you personally do or don't do. That's none of my business.

@IamNobody Why would you think she would change?

@greyeyed123 Because it's easy to ask for someone else money to get distributed when the one asking doesn't have any. When it does and she will, will she think the same way? It's a hypothetical situation and I have no way to tell what she will do if she actually accumulate wealth. I am just thinking out loud on a possible scenario.

@IamNobody So my very personal story had no affect on you, eh? Plenty of people become rich and don't think like rich a-holes. Warren Buffett? He still lives in the same house he bought in 1958 for $31,500. Do you really think AOC's personal values are so shallow as to become something akin to a Republican on fiscal issues? Good grief. Not everyone is consumed by the love of money--not even everyone who actually has money. (Suzy Orman: "people first, then money, then things." Words I have lived by for close to 20 years.)

A lot of her policies will never see the light of day thankfully.

@LimitedLight Not sure what your point is. I am not in public office and have no policies. It THAT your point?

@LimitedLight Let's start with your use of grammar. You intimated that my policies would never see the light of day... Actually your use of "Neither do you" doesn't even fit as a coherent response. I asked for clarification and you LOL'd. I let it go because I can see you are just a little fucktard! Your response to that lol, without further provocation or reason is inane. Not sure what you mean by "tagging people already in the conversation is anserine" is also not a coherent sentence. By anserine are you referring to β-alanyl-N-methylhistidine? By the way... When A person hits the reply button... it tags you automatically. Piss off cupcake! You ain't LimitedLight you have proven yourself to be DimLight!

@LimitedLight Clearly... You rode the short bus...

Go take your Depakote and Lithium!

If the tax policies she’s advocating for are still in effect when she becomes wealthy, she will.

Time will tell, no doubt about it
