sniff, sniff... smells like bullshit:

The White House
Dozens of rank-and-file Democrats have reached out to the Administration and signaled they are willing to provide wall funding if the Government reopens.

The President made a good-faith offer, and there's real opportunity to do things that BOTH parties want.

um... no they have not indicated that they are willing to provide wall funding. they have indicated that they are willing to talk about, TALK ABOUT, border security, but only if and when the government reopens, the point being that no conversation is even possible with the government remaining closed.

the president made a very, very bad-faith offer... two of them. his first one was that if he could have almost six billion bucks for his wall, he would temporarily restore the perfectly fine daca he destroyed, and temporarily not deport certain people who weren't being deported anyway (and shouldn't be) until he decided they should be. in other words, the schoolyard bully stole your lunch money and stood on your neck and then said, hey, if you give me your lunch money every day from now on and lick my boots too, i'll get off your neck for 10 minutes and lend you back the lunch money i've already stolen, for interest of course. that's good faith? the new offer is three weeks of function in exchange for his wall, or he'll either shut it down again or he'll declare an emergency when in fact there is no emergency (at least none he hasn't created himself). yah, good faith my ass.

No surprise that he's declaring victory regardless of the actual outcome. That's just what he does -- see N. Korea, etc.

I hear one of the drug cartels ordered a boring machine from Elon Musk.

I saw a Border Patrol surveillance video today that showed a couple dozen people using a ladder on the Mexican side and a rope on the US side of an existing wall, and the wall hardly slowed them down. I still don't understand why so many people think a wall along the entire border is going to make a difference.

plus all the tunnels under existing boarder walls and the holes that can be cut through the steel slats.
