If Today Had a Theme, It Would Be DEATH (but maybe optimistically)

Today, my day started with watching a dog be hit by a car and then listening to him die. From there, thing went downhill.
Dear readers, you KNOW you're having a bad day when...

Ironically (and coincidentally), I applied for a job at a local funeral home today.

Was life testing me? 'Cause if so... I passed?

Gee I'm sorry that you saw dog killed. I love animals and hate seeing them suffer. We all of us are going to die. We all know that intellectually, but rarely come to grips with the death of the ego. All things are impermanent.

I suppose it would be easier to feel the dog’s now in ‘dog heaven.’ Yours seems the price we pay for acknowledging reality, both it’s joys, and pain.. Love that bird, appreciate life, and thanks for sharing your experience; I’ve grieved a little, too ~

Oh so sorry about your little pal. It feels like a test sometimes and our religious friends certainly believe that. Its not though. Its all just a series of random events. Mathematicians will attach statistics to them but really even that isn't a thing. I hope you get the job, what an honour to support a family following the death of their loved one.

Although a giant dog lover, trying to see the bright side, you wrote it like a joke. "Thing went downhill" after getting hit by a car

Sorry you went through that but good experience for applying at the funeral home

Some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad.
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle,
Don't grumble, give a whistle!
And this'll help things turn out for the best
And
Always look on the bright side of life!
Always look on the bright side of life
If life seems jolly rotten,
There's something you've forgotten!
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing,
When you're feeling in the dumps,
Don't be silly chumps,
Just purse your lips and whistle -- that's the thing!
And always look on the bright side of life
Come on!
Always look on the bright side of life
For life is quite absurd,
And death's the final word.
You must always face the curtain with a bow!
Forget about your sin -- give the audience a grin,
Enjoy it, it's the last chance anyhow!
So always look on the bright side of death!
Just before you draw your terminal breath.
Life's a piece of shit,
When you look at it.
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true,
You'll see it's all a show,
Keep 'em laughing as you go.
Just remember that the last laugh is on you!
And always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the bright side of life
Come on guys, cheer up
Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the bright side of life
Worse things happen at sea you know
Always look on the bright side of life
I mean, what have you got to lose?
you know, you come from nothing
you're going back to nothing
what have you lost? Nothing!
Always look on the bright side of life

Holy shit on a cracker, that's awful. I love dogs more than life itself and see one die is never nice. I have hit two because of idiot owners walking them off the lead near my home where there is no fence or wall between there and the road. The first one died as I went right over it. The second one was on my birthday, it lived but was a mess. I hate birthdays.

My my, the energy was circling the wagon! So sad about the dog!

I had a year like that. Eventually it ended, although it didn't seem like it ever would at the time.
